It's not exactly uncommon for a current Love Island star to have come into content with a former Love Island star IRL. All these ridiculously attractive 20-somethings all hang out in the same circles, follow each other on Instagram, attend the same parties etc. etc. – and other young things we're just too tired to care about anymore.
Anyway, a Love Island 2025 being followed by a former Islander or having met one in a club one summer night isn't exactly news anymore – but if a newbie Islander admits to actually being friends with a Love Island legend, well, that peaks our interest.

It turns out that in addition to OG Dejon Noel-Wiliams being besties with Love Island 2023 legend Tyrique Hyde, Helena Ford is friends with none other than Love Island 2018 star turned documentary filmmaker Zara McDermott.
Not a bad one to have in your corner while you're on a show like this, let us tell you.
When asked by press whether she knew any former Islanders, Helena – who is in holding in Mallorca right now – answered, 'I do know Zara McDermott. One of my friends is her best friend, but I didn't actually manage to speak to her before I went in, because she's really busy with filming her documentary at the moment.'

And dating former One Direction star, Louis Tomlinson, let's not forget that.
And it seems that Zara is not Helena's only celebrity connection; in the same interview, the Love Island 2025 OG admitted to having a link to none other than Justin Bieber. What?
She revealed, 'I don't know him. Basically, when I was really, really young, I used to be, like a Belieber. I was just like a little fan girl for Justin Bieber. So yeah, he did follow me back, but that was on my old Twitter account. It wasn't it wasn't on my actual one. So, yeah, but when, obviously, when I was about 13, I was absolutely gassed.'

Helena is a 29-year-old flight attendant from London and is set to enter the Love Island 2025 villa on day one.
When asked to reveal the type of Islander she'd like to couple up with, she said, 'Somebody funny or Northern. I feel like Northern people have much more banter than Southerners. If you look through my previous dating history, you’ll see I clearly go for personality. You can pretty much laugh me into bed.'
